From Proto-Indo-European *sregʰ- (snore). Cognate with Ancient Greek ῥέγχος (rhénkhos, snoring), Old Armenian ռունգն (ṙungn, nose). See also Ancient Greek ῥύγχος (rhúnkhos, snout).[1]
