Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Indo-European *sregʰ- (“snore”). Cognate with Ancient Greek ῥέγχος (rhénkhos, “snoring”), Old Armenian ռունգն (ṙungn, “nose”). See also Ancient Greek ῥύγχος (rhúnkhos, “snout”).[1]
