RFV discussion: October 2014[edit]

The following discussion has been moved from Wiktionary:Requests for verification (permalink).

This discussion is no longer live and is left here as an archive. Please do not modify this conversation, but feel free to discuss its conclusions.

User claims he or she created this based on a request and didn't do any research to confirm the request was accurate. google books:æcirn suggests it's a synonym of æcern in Old English. Even a Google Web search only finds references to an Old English word 'æcirn'. Renard Migrant (talk) 15:43, 16 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

As this is an Old English listing, this request is no longer valid, unless you are requesting verification for an English listing that complements the already existing Old English one. I'd suggest changing the verification tag to [[æcirn#rfv-notice-ang-|æcirn]] (and, to match the tag on the actual page, that tag as well). WikiWinters (talk) 19:45, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
If it's been speedy deleted, I don't object to that, no, not at all. Renard Migrant (talk) 21:08, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
The rfv template is the only thing left in the entry with an "en" language code. Chuck Entz (talk) 21:16, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes it should have been deleted along with the English. Striking, I can't imagine anyone would object to this. Renard Migrant (talk) 23:20, 18 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
