Russian alternative inflections[edit]

@Atitarev, Tetromino, Vahagn Petrosyan, Nominkhana arslang (ping others if needed) I believe the alternative inflected forms (especially реку́, but also река́м, река́ми, река́х) are not obsolete or dated; I personally use реку́ consistently, and having asked Vahagn and Nominkhana it seems that these are pretty widespread. реку́ sounds normal to me, река́м, река́ми, река́х less so. Но я армянски школа сканчался, it's not my native language. Vahag (talk) 18:03, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Vahagn Petrosyan, Thadh, agree, реку́ sounds completely normal, especially in figurative expressions (a river of something). But I have not heard река́м, река́ми, река́х in modern speech - it's something from old poetry. Tetromino (talk) 18:23, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Thadh None should be marked as obsolete. Реку́ feels archaic, but used in "Москву-реку". All the other forms are similar. I would propose changing the label to "archaic". Nominkhana arslang (talk) 19:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
реку́ (rekú) is valid and attestable, also in some dictionaries as an alternative form: Словарь ударений русского языка (река) Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 22:58, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
