What is "modern Old Armenian"? --Fsojic (talk) 23:30, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Old Armenian was the language of literature well into the end of the 19th century. For example, this encyclopedia was published in 1891 and it has words such as ելեքտռութիւն (elekʻtṙutʻiwn, electricity) and հիւլէ (hiwlē, atom) (note also սուրճ (surč), թէյ (tʻēy)). անկախութիւն (ankaxutʻiwn) too isn't attested in Classical or even medieval times. The name "modern Old Armenian" was invented by me, for lack of an established term, to describe these words. I am open to suggestions. --Vahag (talk) 09:55, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Vahagn Petrosyan: I propose we coin the portmanteau neold, from neo- + old. Hence "Neold Armenian". I'm out --Per utramque cavernam (talk) 22:30, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Per utramque cavernam: I'll sleep on it. --Vahag (talk) 12:39, 20 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
