Also, I've got another question regarding several entries I've just created. Take շեփորահար (šepʻorahar) or ֆլեյտահար (fleytahar): if the derivation from հարել (harel) is indeed correct, do you know what's afoot with the semantics there? One doesn't "beat" a trumpet or a flute. Is it possible that -հար (-har) was extracted as a suffix from թմբկահար (tʻmbkahar), and its use generalized to mean "X player", with X being any kind of instrument? @PUC: in Old Armenian հարկանեմ (harkanem) is used both with beatable musical instruments and also for wind instruments, as փողահար (pʻołahar). The semantic development could have been as you suggested. In any case, I do not want to treat -հար (-har) as a suffix. It continues the same compounding functions as in Old Armenian even if the meaning "to play a musical instrument" has not survived in հարել (harel). Vahag (talk) 17:05, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
