eomma and appa sound like they come from Hebrew "ima" (mom) "abba" (dad), just thought this might be added — This unsigned comment was added by 74.7.165.189 (talk).

@74.7.165.189, there are a few words that are common across many wholly unrelated languages, and which are often discussed as sharing certain commonalities due to the basic biomechanics of the human face, combined with how humans grow up. Note too that English mom and pop are quite similar -- this has nothing to do with any purported ancient Hebrew → English vocabulary transmission, and instead it is due to these same biomechanical and developmental factors. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 18:04, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
