Can someone please add an IPA pronunciation transcription, please? --24.17.103.185 17:50, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I was surprised that the açaí article pointed to this one, saying that açaí was an alternative form of açai, which is implied to be the primary spelling. Is this correct? The Wikipedia article uses açaí.

Having a term defined as an alternative form doesn’t necessarily imply that it’s secondary. Açaí is etymologically more correct (because that’s how it’s written in Portuguese), but based on personal observations I’d say that Ç occurs more commonly than Í in English, and makes the pronunciation clearer (acai can be interpreted as */ˈa.kaj/); so the Í it’s much more likely to be ignored. — Ungoliant (Falai) 00:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
