Definition[edit]

The term is used in the episode when Homer goes to the doctor to try and gain excessive weight. It is intended by the doctor to sound like a medical term when it really isn't. HE goes on to describe other fake medical terms such as the food group:the whipped group, the congealed group, and the chocotastic. Mnidjm (talk) 14:51, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a part of the definition, but a usage note, or qualifier label. The term "assal horizontology" does not refer to a pseudo-medical term meaning procrastination, it refers to the act itself. See the difference? Keφr 16:09, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was trying to say that it does not mean procrastination. Procrastination implies you are putting off something you should be doing to do this. This is a deliberate action. Mnidjm (talk) 16:54, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Appears in one Simpsons episode, often quoted. Used outside of this universe at all? Equinox 14:51, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing on b.g.c, Usenet hits seem to be mostly quotations from the episode. But of course, we could always keep it under the "well-known work" criterion. Keφr 15:14, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did find a few instances of people using it without referring to the quote. I wasn't sure if these counted: one, two, three
In general, Web pages don't count for citing because they are not durably archived (and may disappear at any time): see WT:CFI. This term could possibly be attested from Usenet newsgroups, which we do allow (because of the way they are archived), but it might still be tough. Equinox 19:31, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cited, but the citations are far from perfect. Take a look and tell me what you think. — Ungoliant (falai) 04:39, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... RFV passed, I think. Equinox 17:54, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think citations from alt.tv.simpsons should count as independent of reference to the Simpsons universe. Siuenti (talk) 08:55, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
