"Hard tussock on tundra, such as moss." I can find citations that use "niggerhead swamp" or use "niggerhead" near "moss", but it's not clear that "tussock on tundra" is the meaning they're using. Does anyone know enough to confidently modify/confirm the definition? - -sche (discuss) 19:20, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Citations added & wording tweaked. I see no reason to emphasise moss, and even 'hard' is seemingly not intrinsic to the definition. They seem to be unappreciated by walkers, hence perhaps the pejorative term. — Pingkudimmi 07:32, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
