Etymology[edit]

paint appears as a past participle in Cligès, but of what? My best guess would be *paindre but unless I can find it in a text, it remains unattested. See peindre in Modern French. Mglovesfun (talk) 17:58, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

One pre-1400 citation from paindre on the French Wikisource, tonnes in Middle French (notably Rabelais). Mglovesfun (talk) 18:13, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Paint Horses[edit]

Would "paint" be the appropriate place to mention "paint horse"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Paint_Horse Thanks. Fallendarling 00:43, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Based on the Wikipedia article, there should be entries at Paint and Paint Horse - Wiktionary is case sensitive, and in the context of the horse "Paint" appears to be always capitalised. I'll add them now. Thryduulf (talk) 08:04, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
