To get the google hits:
- Go to Google Taiwan's advanced search page
- Enter the term into the 包含完整的字句 (with the exact phrase) box.
- the phrase must be entered using Traditional Chinese. However, the resulting hits will be for both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
- In the 只在以下的網址或網域 (return results from the site or domain) box, type .cn to get hits from PRC or .tw to get hits from Taiwan.
- If a new word does not have a Simplified Chinese version, make sure that you add both Category:Chinese nouns (Simplified Chinese) and Category:Chinese nouns (Traditional Chinese) to the entry. This will guarantee that a user can find the term in either place.
- For Category:Chinese nouns (Simplified Chinese), it is best to add the pinyin and tones (as shown in the template) to ensure that the noun shows up in the list according to Pinyin order. It is not necessary do this for Traditional Chinese entries as those should be in Radical/Stroke count order.
- There are several convenient Chinese to Pinyin converters on the web. You can use this one to convert Simplified Chinese to Pinyin with tones.
- This site converts Pinyin to zhuyin fuhao (注音符號).
- By adding the Category:你, Category:好 and Category:吗 at the bottom, you ensure that this word gets added to all of the indexes (radical/stroke order, Pinyin, Cantonese, Min Nan etc).
