"A" letter instead of "The" letter[edit]
Would it make sense to add a feature to change the initial "The" to an "A" instead? This is mostly for the case where a letter is not part of the alphabet, but is a part of the orthography, as happens with Finnish W and Š. "The letter of the Finnish alphabet" sounds a little weird. - @Surjection: I've added an
|indef=1parameter for this purpose. (Actually the value of the parameter can be anything as long as it's not empty.) It only works in the letter-related parts of the template, not the letter name, ordinal, and so on. Auto link to language page[edit]
Pages like Ⱥ mention Saanich but have no links to it.
This template produces:
The third letter of the Saanich alphabet, written in the Latin script.
Where the first two links are very common nouns. It would be helpful to link to the word least likely to be familiar:

I looked at the template and don't understand how it works. I'd guess we'd need to modify {{#if:{{{alphabet name|}}}| ({{{alphabet name}}})}} to produce a link? I don't see where "alphabet name" template is defined (templates can have spaces?!).

English translation of the name of the letter[edit]
Can we add the English translation of the name of the letter? For instance guê should be linked to gee. - Sarilho1 (talk) 15:15, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
