Welsh words beginning with "a", "f", "ff", "h", "i", "n", "s" "o", and "y" do not mutate (only words beginning with "b", "c", "d", "g", "ll", "m", "n", "p", "rh" and "t" do), so there isn't any point to having these templates - or indeed mutation sections for these words at all. (ps, can someone sort out all the sections below, the documentation doesn't cover group nominations). Thryduulf (talk) 00:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Keep, if only as a singular template for those words that don't mutate as opposed to singular templates. If there is no mutation section in these entries, how will people know that they don't mutate? It's important that there is something there. Cdhaptomos talkcontribs 07:52, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per both of you. Cdhaptomos, like you say we only need one template for entries that don't mutate. IMO create a single template, the name doesn't really matter as we can rename it as much as we like with minimal disruption. Maybe {{cy-no-mut}} or {{cy-without-mut}} (no could be interpreted as Norwegian!). Mglovesfun (talk) 14:44, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
{{cy-mut-no}} would go better with the flow of the names, methinks. Cdhaptomos talkcontribs 17:55, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If we have a single template to display on words that don't mutate (I'm not certain we need to) then {{cy-mut-no}} would be the best of the suggestions made so far, but {{cy-mut-unchanged}} would probably be the clearest. Thryduulf (talk) 18:06, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Or maybe {{cy-mut-none}}. I think it is needed in some form. Cdhaptomos talkcontribs 19:59, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
{{cy-mut-none}} works as a name. I'm still not certain whether we need it or not (or if we do need it, whether moving it or the whole mutations thing to the inflection line) but I haven't figured it out enough to put into words yet. Thryduulf (talk) 08:04, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to have one template for this, or move to inflection line per Thryduulf. Mglovesfun (talk) 14:12, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
note that {{cy-mut}} links to the Wikipedia article on mutation in Welsh, so that in itself is quite useful. Mglovesfun (talk) 21:31, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just remembered that words beginning with vowels ("a", "e", "i", "o", "u", "w" and "y") all accept aspirate mutation in some cases, so those should be kept (I have changed the templates accordingly). Shall I go ahead and suggest the others for deletion, and create the new template? Cdhaptomos talkcontribs. 19:15, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've left the seven that you mention above alone, and redirected the remaining four five to {{cy-mut-none}}. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
