Discussion[edit]

Usage[edit]

When adding an initializations, does one add the expanded form as a separate entry? -- IrishDragon 06:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes, but usually the expanded form doesn't warrant a dictionary entry. In those cases, sometimes Wikipedia has an article on the topic, in which case we can link to that. When even that isn't the case, we link to the component words. —RuakhTALK 15:09, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative spellings[edit]

If there are alternative spellings of the term to which the initialism applies, how should these be dealt with? For example, PARP → 'PolyADP-ribose polymerase' and 'Poly ADP ribose polymerase'. --Ceyockey 03:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deprecation[edit]

The deprecation template link to Template:initialism of is broken. Could someone fix please, I don't have permission. --Qef (talk) 07:56, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I imagine Template:initialism-old is not needed anymore. Before my time. --Pious Eterino (talk) 15:37, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto Template:abbreviation-old --Pious Eterino (talk) 15:38, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Delete both and update Wiktionary:Normalization of entries. Ultimateria (talk) 23:50, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
