Applying script to the whole list

[edit]

This template applies the script class to the whole list at once, which causes some problems:

  • The transliterations also have the fonts applied. They are also placed in Latn tags, but this doesn't seem to help for some reason.
  • For right-to-left languages, all of the words are aligned to the right. This could cause confusion for users who don't see any content in the expected location and don't look all the way to the right side of the page to find it. I'm not sure if this outweighs the benefits.
    • For top-to-bottom languages, I think that applying the script to the whole list is definitely necessary, as otherwise the list would be far too long vertically while being only one character wide the whole length.
  • (Unrelated point: Is there any way to add alt forms to links?)

Maybe using div for the whole list was not a good idea, by using span for each item these problems will be solved. For top-to-bottom languages, there's no standard way to make them vertical in web AFAIK (there's no way for it in HTML). For alt forms, we can use [[text|alt text]] as list item and Module:links will find alt form (we had this feature in the module before). --Z 11:00, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Re top-to-bottom languages:

Seems to be possible. [1] --Yair rand (talk) 23:55, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
