Romanization schemes[edit]

Should we document which romanization schemes are to be allowed, or will that be self-evident to anyone familiar with the affected languages? (Or do we intend to simply allow all plausible romanization schemes?) —RuakhTALK 02:01, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we should document the systems to be used. I've removed languages with complex systems from this vote and begun to tabulate the standard systems for the simple-system languages. - -sche (discuss) 03:12, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Statement of legislative intent: It is my intention that the editors of the specific languages decide the precise schemes of Romanization to be used, from the (narrow) range of traditional Romanizations (for example, sometimes s is used rather than ṣ, and s may be more appropriate in article names); and I interpret the vote I wrote as allowing this discretion. - -sche (discuss) 01:04, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
