From Dutch abrikoos, from French abricots, plural of abricot, from Spanish albaricoque, ultimately from Arabic البرقوق (al-barqūq, plums), from Ancient Greek πραικόκιον (praikokion), probably from Latin praecoquum, variant of praecox (literally early-ripe).
