- (mineralogy) A dark brown amphibole mineral; a mixed silicate of iron and magnesium.

- Anthophyllite is of a brownish colour, and glistening, pearly, pseudo-metallic lustre; it occurs massive, the mass consisting of crystals or crystalline fibres often disposed in a radiating form.
