bedouinize (third-person singular simple present bedouinizes, present participle bedouinizing, simple past and past participle bedouinized)

  1. (transitive) To cause something to adopt bedouin characteristics.
    1. (history) In the Islamic Middle East, to cause agricultural or urban land to become bedouin-inhabited grazing land.
    2. (linguistics) To cause an Arabic dialect to adopt features traditionally typical of those dialects spoken by the bedouins.
