Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بلجمله (bilcümle),[1][2] from Arabic بِالْجُمْلَة (bi-l-jumla), from بِـ (bi-) +‎ اَلْ (al-) +‎ جُمْلَة (jumla),[3] equivalent to bil- +‎ cümle (all, everybody; sentence).
