  1. Anything that serves to disambiguate.
    • 1998, Edda Weigand, Contrastive Lexical Semantics, page 257:
      Those nouns, adjectives and verbs which only occurred with one of the senses were extracted from this list but only nouns were used as additional potential disambiguators in a differential list.
  2. (computing) A program that determines the meaning of a term from the context in which it is used
