English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From French endogé + -ic. Endogé, first applied in the context of earthworms by Marcel Bouché (see anecic), is from Ancient Greek ἔνδον (éndon, within, inside) + γῆ (, earth), modelled after French épigé. By surface analysis, endo- +‎ geo- +‎ -ic.
