för- + fara, from Old Swedish forfara, from Middle Low German vorvaren, cognate with German verfahren.
Verb[edit]
förfara (present förfar, preterite förfor, supine förfarit, imperative förfar)
- to proceed, to handle, to do (things in a particular manner)
- Synonym: gå till väga
- Överbringaren av brevet kan berätta vidlyftigare om hur det förfarits med domkyrkans och biskopens gods
