[edit]From Old Irish fescor[1] (compare Manx fastyr and Irish feascar), from Proto-Celtic *weskʷeros (compare Middle Welsh ucher),[2] from Proto-Indo-European *wek(ʷ)speros (compare Latin vesper and Ancient Greek ἕσπερος (hésperos)).
