Literally, crazy weekend. From the expansion of vendredi fou (Crazy Friday) into a weekend.

Usage notes[edit]

Though the holiday period is exclusive to the United States of America, the marketing and sales event has expanded out through the English-speaking world, and also into Europe. The holiday has not followed the sales and marketing event into other nations.
