fused head (plural fused heads)

  1. (grammar) A linguistic element that serves as both a head and a determinative, for example “some” in the noun phrase “some of her books” or “any” in the phrase “I don’t see any”. In traditional grammars of English, these are often understood as a type of pronoun.
