  1. (chemistry) Used attributively to describe polymers in which the main chain consists of atoms a single element

Usage notes[edit]

  • The individual polymers are named X-chain polymer etc., where X is the symbols of the elements, or prefixed with the name of the element. e.g. S-chain polymer or sulfur-chain polymer.
