English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

inter- +‎ graft

Verb[edit]

intergraft (third-person singular simple present intergrafts, present participle intergrafting, simple past and past participle intergrafted)

  1. (transitive) To graft each upon the other.
    • 1910, Charles Orie Couts, Cleft Grafting, page 15:
Not all fruits can be intergrafted. There must be a relation between stock and scion. In general plants of the same species but of different varieties may be intergrafted, as any variety of apple, plum or pear, upon another.
