Etymology[edit]

From Old Galician-Portuguese justiça, borrowed from Latin iūstitia (justice).[1][2] Cognate with Galician xustiza, Spanish justicia, Catalan justícia, Occitan justícia, French justice, Italian giustizia and Romanian justiție. See also justeza, possibly a doublet.
