Latvian[edit]

Kaza un kazlēni

Etymology[edit]

Apparently from kaza (goat) +‎ -ēns, but the l is unexplained. But Russian козёл (kozjól, male goat), with an extra l, suggests an unattested word for 'male goat' (different from āzis) as the source.

Noun[edit]

kazlēns m (1st declension)

  1. young or baby goat, kid
kazai piedzimuši divi kazlēnithe she-goat had two kids
