  1. steam or vapour created from water being thrown on a hot surface
    Kas saunas leili oli?
    Was there any vapour in the sauna?
  2. heat
    Päike vajub alla, aga siia on pidama jäänud pisut lõunaaegset leili.
    The sun is setting, but here there is some midday heat left.
  3. soul, spirit
    heitis leili väljahis soul left the body (literally, “he expelled his soul”)
  4. life, life-force
    Näe – käsi lüüakse otsast – elad veel ning saad naerdagi. Aga kui pea on ära, on leil läbi.
    If the hand is chopped off, you will still laugh. but if it is your head, then your life is over.
