Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish مشغول اولمق (meşgul olmaḳ, to be busy or occupied),[1][2] from مشغول (meşgul), equivalent to compound of meşgul (busy, occupied) +‎ olmak (to be, to become).[3]
