- Precedes the comparative form of an adjective or an adverb.
- glic - wise
- na bu ghlice - wiser
- mòr - big
- na bu mhotha - bigger

Usage notes[edit]
- Lenites the following word.
- Only used in the past tense and the conditional mood. In the present and future tenses, nas is used.
- Before vowels and words beginning with fh followed by a vowel the form used is na b'.
