From New Latin phyllōdium, from Ancient Greek φυλλώδης (phullṓdēs, leaflike).

phyllodium (plural phyllodia)

  1. (botany) A petiole dilated into the form of a blade, and usually with vertical edges, as in the Australian acacias.
