English[edit]

Noun[edit]

potscape (plural potscapes)

  1. An artistic arrangement of plants in pots.
    • 1993, Fine Gardening, numbers 31-40, page 45:
Create a potscape. Avoiding anything too cute or kitschy, the author plants the tree to resemble how a scrubby juniper would look in nature. Roots are left exposed and rocks are placed as they might be on a windswept hillside.
    • 2007, W. Johnson, C. Mullen, Write to the Top!: How to Become a Prolific Academic, page 152:
Music and sounds are disruptive to this author, but visual stimuli are most welcoming, with a budding hibiscus tree and surrounding potscape garden planted directly outside the home office window.
