Maltese[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

  • ukoll (after a consonant, mostly also after a pause)

Etymology[edit]

Apparently from u +‎ koll (literally “and all”). Probably used at first as a filler at the end of enumerations and then reinterpreted as “too, as well”. Compare the same development in dialectal British English and all.

Pronunciation[edit]

Adverb[edit]

wkoll

  1. also; too; as well
