From New Latin (genus name) from Russian дзе́льква (dzélʹkva, “tree, wood”), from Georgian ძელქვა (ʒelkva), from Old Georgian ძელქვაჲ (ʒelkvay), from ძელი (ʒeli, “beam”) + ქვაჲ (kvay, “stone”).
