Etymology

Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἀνακάλυψις f (anakálupsis, revelation) with ending -σις (-sis) > modern suffix -ση (-si), from ἀνακαλύπτω (anakalúptō) < ἀνά (aná, above, through) + καλύπτω (kalúptō, to cover, to conceal).[1] See ανα- (ana-) +‎ κάλυψη (kálypsi).
