Etymology 1[edit]

Learned borrowing from French tricycle from Ancient Greek τρι- (tri-) & κύκλος (kúklos).[1] By surface analysis, τρί- (trí-) +‎ κύκλ(ος) (kýkl(os)) + suffix -ο for neuters. Also see the adjective τρίκυκλος (tríkyklos).
