Pronunciation

[edit]إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللّٰهُ • (ʔin šāʔa llāhu)
- God willing; inshallah, if it is God’s will (literally, “if God has willed [it]”)
- سَأَزُوْرُ أَقَارِبِي فِي مَدِينَةِ الرِّيَاضِ هَذَا الصَّيْفَ، إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ.
- saʔazuwru ʔaqāribī fī madīnati r-riyāḍi haḏā ṣ-ṣayfa, ʔin šāʔa l-lahu.
- I will visit my relatives in Riyadh this summer, God willing.
- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 37:102:
- فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنْظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّابِرِينَ
- falammā balaḡa maʕahu s-saʕya qāla yā bunayya ʔinnī ʔarā fī l-manāmi ʔannī ʔaḏbaḥuka fanẓur māḏā tarā qāla yā ʔabati fʕal mā tuʔmaru satajidunī ʔin šāʔa llāhu mina ṣ-ṣābirīna
- When he was old enough to assist in his endeavour, he said, "My son! I see in dreams that I am sacrificing you. See what you think." He said, "Father! Do whatever you have been commanded. If God wishes, you will find me to be patient."
