Cognate with Avestan 𐬟𐬱𐬙𐬁𐬥𐬀 (fštāna, breast of a woman) and Persian پستان (pestân, breast), Proto-Germanic *spenô (nipple), Ancient Greek στήνιον (stḗnion, breast, chest), Irish sine (nipple), Lithuanian spenys ((animal) teats) and Tocharian B päścane (pair of breasts).
