[edit]From Arabic خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ (ḵamsata ʕašara). By surface analysis, ħamest + -ax. Compare Moroccan Arabic خمستاش (ḵmastāš), Tunisian Arabic خمستاش (ḵmastāš), Gulf Arabic خمستعش (ḵəmistəʕəš), Egyptian Arabic خمستاشر (ḵamastāšar).
