Symbol

˩

  1. (IPA) A symbol representing an extra-low (bottom) tone

Usage notes

  • When this symbol occurs in combination with other tone letters, they indicate the pitch contour of the tone. For example, ˥˥ means a tone that begins extra-high and ends extra-high and ˨˩˦ means one that begins low, then goes extra-low and ends high.
