[edit]Inherited from Hellenistic Koine Greek Τετάρτη (Tetártē) from τέταρτος (tétartos, “fourth”) with ellipsis of the feminine noun ἡμέρα (hēméra, “day”): "the fourth day after Saturday".[1]
