[edit]Learned borrowing from Byzantine Greek εικονογραφία (eikonographía), from Ancient Greek εἰκονογραφία (eikonographía, “description, representation”).[1] By surface analysis, εικονο- (eikono-) + -γραφία (-grafía) or εικονογράφ(ος) (eikonográf(os)) + -ία (-ía).
