From Proto-Indo-European *nū (now). Cognate with Lithuanian (now, well now), Latin num (now), Latin nunc (now, soon, today, nowadays), Sanskrit नु, नू (nu, nū, now), Proto-Germanic *nu (English now) and Albanian nu.
