Etymology[edit]

From a zero-grade *pr̥ḱ-n-, of the Proto-Indo-European root *perḱ- (coloured, motley),[1][2] whence also περκνός (perknós, dusky, dark).

πρακνόν (praknón) (accusative singular masculine)
