Ancient Greek

Alternative forms

Etymology

The formation is similar to γλαῦξ (glaûx) and λύγξ (lúnx). The Greek word is often assumed to be influenced by or derived from τρίζω (trízō, to squeak), but its facultative nasal may point to a Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. origin.
