Etymology

Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek σχεδιασμός (skhediasmós, improvisation), adapted to the modern meaning of σχεδιάζω (schediázo, to draw, to design, to plan), with semantic loan from English planning and drawing.[1] By surface analysis, σχεδιάζω (schediázo) +‎ -μός (-mós).
