Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic *baytaq (quite a lot; ample) (see cognates below), consisting of *bāj (rich; numerous) + affix -taq/-teg for similarity/analogy.

Cognate with Kazakh байтақ (baitaq, wide, immense), Kyrgyz байтак (baytak, faraway), Southern Altai байтак (baytak, abundant), Yakut баайдаах (baaydaaq, rich).
